Mormon's Seek to Be Understood

With all of the mud slinging that has gone on since the past elections and as person after person, vandal after vandal, and bigot after bigot has attacked The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for its support of Proposition 8 in California, church leaders have sought once again to reach out and dispel misconceptions concerning Church doctrine and practice. This was an interview invited by Church leadership between ABC News and Elders Ballard and Cook. While to me it appears like the comments made by the Apostles were edited to pieces, overall it was a pretty decent interview. Here is a link to that Interview.

I've been blessed to come from a Mormon family. Three of my Grandparents were Dutch and one from way back in New England and England. I have always known that God, our Father in Heaven, lives and loves us. He has helped me and my family many, many times.

I know that Jesus Christ is my/our Savior and without Him, nothing good is possible. Not all in our extended family have remained faithful, or even Mormon. I do not understand that, but I do love them and hope that they will return.

There is nothing forced in this church. It is based on freedom of choice. It is up to the individual to make those choices.
